About Crochet

Crochet is a visual skill, and the best way to learn is by watching videos, examining images, or attending a class. We recommend finding a local class or looking for tutorials on platforms like YouTube.
Amigurumi requires knowing basic crochet stitches and understanding patterns. We’ve written a blog post about getting started, which you can find here.

About Being a Pattern Designer

Our prices reflect the time, expertise, materials, and effort that go into creating each pattern. Designing, photographing, writing instructions, and publishing patterns takes considerable time and effort. Additionally, we cover costs like website maintenance, transaction fees, and taxes.
Becoming a crochet pattern designer is challenging. You’ll need time, patience, and passion. It’s also financially challenging until you build a large portfolio. We encourage you to follow your passion, but keep in mind it’s a long-term journey!
Becoming a designer took us many years of hard work and learning. While we don’t offer personal coaching, you can read more about the process in the "Why are your prices the way they are?" and "Is it easy to become a designer?" sections of this FAQ.
We don’t promote designs that aren’t our own. However, we encourage you to build your own platform and share your work!
